CANCÚN, QRoo — During the second anniversary of the "Mujeres de Hierro" (Women of Iron) program, and in commemoration of the Orange Day observed on the 25th of each month, the Municipal President, Ana Paty Peralta, emphasized that this strategy not only empowers residents but also strengthens citizen organization, sisterhood, and the protection of common environments.

"We are here two years later with this great project that was born from you, which is why it is stronger than ever and continues to grow. You are women of iron: may nothing ever break you, you have this great community to continue growing in every way, no matter your age," she stated.

While greeting and interacting with the 45 members of the activity organized by the Directorate of Crime Prevention with Citizen Participation at the Community Development Center of supermanzana 101, Ana Paty Peralta highlighted that the governments of the Fourth Transformation not only focus on combating crime but also on addressing its root causes and consolidating strong and solid environments.

"We work every day on the construction of peace and security in our municipality, you know that it is a very high priority for our Governor Mara Lezama and for our President, Claudia Sheinbaum," she said.

Similarly, Ana Paty Peralta indicated that this day is for reflection on the eradication of violence against women, and they will continue to implement public policies to empower this sector. As an example, there are 13 Women's Houses, in addition to the Entrepreneur Women's House, where women can receive advice on legal and psychological matters, courses, and training. The Entrepreneur Women's House has just opened for women who want to consolidate a business.

The Secretary of Public Security and Transit, Jaime Padilla, emphasized that the program not only promotes health and well-being but also strengthens community ties and security in the city. He highlighted the women who inspire with their example of improvement and reinforce the construction of a safer and more united Benito Juárez.

The head of the Directorate of Crime Prevention with Citizen Participation, Zury Rodríguez, noted that over these two years there have been many activities, with the main ones being physical activation and self-defense classes that strengthen the women and men enrolled as individuals. Zumba instruction is now offered in the morning session.

In addition to presenting recognition awards for their consistency to the students of Mujeres de Hierro, Ana Paty Peralta witnessed a demonstration of a combat fitness routine and also greeted the entrepreneurs who exhibited the handicrafts they make.

Subsequently, she visited the Mercado de la Unidad, next to the CDC, where she greeted the vendors and congratulated them for utilizing the space created for the commercialization of various products such as flowers, cleaning supplies, meats, stationery, snacks, sweets, groceries, clothing, and others.
