The Municipality of Benito Juarez has announced the artistic lineup for its Cry of Independence celebration on September 15, 2024. The event will take place at Plaza de la Reforma in Cancun, starting at 7:30 PM. The night promises a wealth of music, tradition, and entertainment suitable for the entire family. The municipality has extended an invitation to the community to join in the festivities.
The celebration will feature an array of musical performances, folkloric shows, and the traditional Cry of Independence ceremony.
The event will kick off at 7:30 PM with the duo Alex Yáñez and Chucho Robles, known as "Los Compadres". At 7:40 PM, the Jarocho Trio "Monarchs of Tierra Blanca" will take to the stage with their traditional music. They will be followed by the Folkloric Ballet of the Municipal Company of the Institute of Culture and the Arts at 8:00 PM, accompanied by the Jarocho Trio.
Mariachi "Aventurero" will perform at 8:15 PM, followed by singer Geovanni Gutiérrez, who will sing several pieces with the mariachi band starting at 8:20 PM. Marcela from Mexico will continue the festive atmosphere at 8:45 PM, also accompanied by the Mariachi.
The Folkloric Ballet will return to the stage at 9:10 PM, followed by Yucatecan comedian "Tila María Sesto" at 9:30 PM, who promises to bring laughter to the audience. The Municipality's Band will perform a musical show at 10:30 PM.
The highlight of the night, the Cry of Independence ceremony, is scheduled for 10:50 PM. This will be followed by a sound drone show at 11:15 PM. To conclude the evening, iconic Mexican rock singer, Alejandra Guzmán, will perform at 11:30 PM.
This September 15th, Cancun's Plaza de la Reforma will host an unforgettable night commemorating the 214th anniversary of Mexico's Cry of Independence.
