Cancun to Host Free World Cup 2026 Fan Festival

Cancun, Quintana Roo — With the 2026 FIFA World Cup just weeks away, the city of Cancun has announced a free fan festival called Cancun Fut Fest 2026, offering live screenings of matches and a variety of cultural and entertainment activities.

The event will run from June 11 to July 19, 2026, and is expected to draw over 10,000 attendees for each Mexico national team match. Unlike official FIFA Fan Fests, which are limited to host cities, the Cancun Fut Fest is organized by the state government under Governor Mara Lezama.

FIFA only permits official events in designated host cities, so Quintana Roo created its own initiative. The festival will feature sports activations, cultural performances, live music, themed activities, and food, craft, and entertainment pavilions.

All World Cup matches, including those of the Mexican national team, will be shown on a giant screen free of charge.
