Cancún to Host First Claude Community Gathering for Hospitality in Latin America

Cancún, Quintana Roo — Universidad Anáhuac Cancún will host “Claude for Hospitality” on Wednesday, Nov. 11, an event organizers describe as the first technical meeting of the Claude community in Latin America dedicated to the hospitality industry.

The program will focus on three areas where artificial intelligence is beginning to reshape tourism operations: the guest experience, including concierge services and agents that respond in multiple languages; day-to-day operations in front desk, housekeeping and maintenance; and marketing and revenue management.

The gathering targets hotel directors and managers, property managers, hotel chains, travel technology companies, restaurants and tourist attractions, as well as developers interested in building tools for the sector.

It is organized by Ricardo Lira de la Vega, Anthropic’s ambassador for Mexico, and Esteban Gorupicz, founder of La Bolsa MX, together with Latinx Tech Group, Universidad Anáhuac and the USA–Mexico Hospitality Chamber (CAHUSAMEX).

The session will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free, but capacity is limited. Registration is available on the event page at luma.com/claudecancun and is subject to approval by the organizers.

Lira de la Vega will be among the speakers, and organizers said they will soon open a call for anyone interested in presenting.

“Hospitality has always been an industry of people serving people. AI doesn’t change that essence — it changes everything behind it,” Gorupicz said. “Quintana Roo is one of the largest tourist destinations in the world and, because of that, one of the most realistic places to test AI in operations.”

A full auditorium in March

It is not the first time the community has gathered on the campus. On March 26, Anáhuac Cancún hosted “Claude Code for Everyone,” a meetup that drew more than 600 registrations and filled the university’s auditorium with people interested in Claude Code, Anthropic’s tool for programming with artificial intelligence.

At that edition, Gorupicz delivered a talk titled “What You CANNOT Do With AI,” and the day closed with a virtual session featuring members of the Anthropic team, the company behind Claude.

With “Claude for Hospitality,” the group aims to bring that conversation to the industry that drives the economy of the Mexican Caribbean: tourism.
