Cancún. With the participation of more than 80 national and international exhibitors, the Expo Turismo Health & Wellness 2025 was held, organized by the Benito Juárez Tourism Secretariat and the Mexican Employers’ Confederation (Coparmex) Quintana Roo.
The event sought to strengthen the offer of quality medical services as a complementary attraction to traditional sun and beach tourism, highlighting the destination’s hospital infrastructure, international certifications, and competitive prices.
Andrés Jurado, president of the Medical Tourism Commission of Coparmex in Quintana Roo and director of My Medical Vacations, emphasized that the true objective is for every visitor to Cancún to learn about the accessible and reliable medical care available in the municipality.
“If only 1% of the millions of tourists that Cancún receives per year became patients, we would be talking about hundreds of thousands of people,” stated Jurado, highlighting the enormous economic potential and the opportunity to position the destination at the forefront of the global sector.
The expert concluded his participation by hoping that the day would be one of practical learning and valuable connections, and expressed his confidence that this forum will continue to consolidate itself as a reference point for health tourism in Mexico.
The expo represents an important step in the professionalization of medical tourism in the region, by bringing together specialists, service providers, and entrepreneurs interested in generating synergies to position the Mexican Caribbean as an international reference.
