CANCÚN, Q. R. — Excitement is palpable in every corner of Cancún. With just nine days until the start of the Socca World Cup 2025, Municipal President Ana Paty Peralta confirmed that the city is ready to welcome the 32 national teams that will compete in this 6 vs 6 soccer tournament, to be held from November 28 to December 7 at the emblematic Malecón Tajamar.
"Cancún, get ready to experience the event of the year. For the first time in history, our city will be the host of the Socca World Cup. More than 30 countries, thousands of athletes and fans, and the entire world focused on the most spectacular stage: our city," expressed the mayor while leading the event preparations.
Mexico, as the host country, will share Group A with Belgium, Ireland, and Australia. The initial matches promise intensity, talent, and excitement in a setting that will combine sport, culture, and nature.
Defined Groups
The tournament groups are as follows:
- Group A: Mexico, Belgium, Ireland, Australia
- Group B: Greece, United States, Serbia, Czech Republic
- Group C: Oman, Bulgaria, Canada, Haiti
- Group D: Poland, Latvia, Argentina, Paraguay
- Group E: Romania, England, Chile, Costa Rica
- Group F: Kazakhstan, France, Uruguay, Netherlands
- Group G: Germany, Ukraine, Spain, Colombia
- Group H: Brazil, Hungary, Morocco, Honduras
A Sustainable Venue
The temporary stadium being constructed at Malecón Tajamar is already in its final phase and will be notable for its sustainable design, being a single-use plastic-free zone. The entry or sale of disposable cups, plates, or cutlery will not be permitted, reaffirming Cancún's environmental commitment to responsible sports and the protection of the local ecosystem.
