CANCÚN, QROO. — With the objective of guaranteeing that citizens can fully exercise their political rights, especially those most in need and those who have historically been denied a voice, Benito Juárez Municipal President Ana Paty Peralta signed a Collaboration Agreement with the Electoral Tribunal of Quintana Roo (TEQROO) in favor of democracy and political-electoral rights.

The signing, which took place at the Palacio Municipal, reaffirmed the commitment to work jointly on effective actions aimed at fostering a democratic culture among all Benitojuarenses and contributing to the strengthening of the political-electoral rights of groups in vulnerable situations.

The agreement was signed by Municipal President Ana Paty Peralta and the Presiding Magistrate of the Electoral Tribunal of Quintana Roo, Sergio Avilés Demeneghi. The event was witnessed by TEQROO magistrates Claudia Ávila Graham and Thalía Hernández Robledo; the municipal secretary general, Pablo Gutiérrez Fernández; the director general of Legal Affairs, Adriana Lucelly Canché Solís; and the head of the TEQROO internal control body, Ilse Berenice Cossio Lugo.

As part of this commitment, the TEQROO will provide free legal advice on political-electoral matters, focused on different areas such as gender, indigenous groups, and vulnerable groups. Furthermore, training, education, promotion, and dissemination programs in political-electoral matters will be created, fostering non-political violence for both citizens and public servants.

Within this framework of collaboration, a lecture was held at the Teatro 08 de Octubre on the topic "Political-Electoral Rights and Their Protection in the Electoral Tribunal of Quintana Roo," delivered by Sarahit Olivos Gómez and Olga Tathiana González Morga. The lecture was directed at more than 100 public servants, as well as students and teachers from Henbord University.
