Cancún, Quintana Roo — Cancún is preparing for six days of festivities for its 2026 Carnival, which will feature a free closing concert by Banda MS and a major security operation to prevent ticket scalping and control access to events.

The Benito Juárez municipal government announced a special operation to ensure order and safety, particularly for the massive concert headlined by Banda MS on February 17 at the Beto Ávila stadium. The event will be completely free to the public.

Mayor Ana Paty Peralta said the sale or resale of official or cloned tickets near the venue will be prohibited. Tickets will be distributed starting at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 16, at the stadium box offices, with a limit of two per person. Anyone caught reselling tickets will be barred from entry, and counterfeit tickets will not be accepted.

As part of the control measures, no one under 15 years old will be allowed to enter, even if accompanied by an adult, a decision aimed at reducing risks during the large-scale event.

There will be no chairs in the field area, and seating in the stands will be assigned based on ticket number and order of arrival when picking up passes. The authorized capacity is 17,774 people, a figure determined based on civil protection guidelines.

General Carnival Agenda

The parade of comparsas and floats will take place from February 14 to 17, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The route will begin on Chichén Itzá Avenue, continue along Tulum Avenue to the Municipal Palace, and the comparsas will continue on foot along the Tulipanes Walkway to the Parque de Las Palapas.

During the Cancún Carnival 2026, which runs from February 12 to 17, the musical program will feature a national lineup including La Adictiva, Bronco, María José, and the closing concert by Banda MS. Performances will be held at various venues such as Parque de las Palapas, the Tajamar Malecón, and the Beto Ávila stadium, as part of a free artistic agenda for residents and visitors.
