Cancún, Mexico — Starting in 2026, a company in Cancún that manufactures chocolate will begin exporting traditional Mexican sweets covered in chocolate to the United States, following the achievement of certification from the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Rodrigo Pérez Arzate, the president of the company, will initiate the sale of its products in U.S. territory.
“We are the first chocolate factory in Cancún focused on exports; we created a concept of traditional Mexican chocolate sweets. We have already received approval from the FDA to take the product to the United States,” said Pérez Arzate in a press conference.
“Although we also intend to take the sweets to Canada, Europe, and Central America, taking advantage of our geographical position. Cancún offers us many opportunities to also bring products from the peninsula to the center of the country,” he stated.
The company Circuletas aims to leverage the logistical opportunity that Cancún represents, as although almost everything consumed here is brought from outside, the road transports return empty to their places of origin, making transportation costs cheaper.
