Cancún, QR. – The Benito Juárez City Council approved the subsidy percentages that will apply to property tax payments during the 2026 fiscal year, an agreement made in the Twenty-Ninth Ordinary Session led by Municipal President Ana Patricia Peralta de la Peña, according to the official bulletin issued on November 27.
The approved incentives will allow taxpayers to access the following discounts on property tax payments:
- 15 percent from January 7 to 21.
- 10 percent from January 22 to February 15.
- 5 percent from February 16 to March 15.
The measure was presented as part of temporary actions to facilitate property tax payment, according to the bulletin.
Discounts for Specific Groups in Property Tax Payment
The City Council also endorsed a 50 percent subsidy aimed at people with disabilities, pensioners, retirees, and older adults with credentials from the National Institute for Older Adults (Inapam), formerly the National Institute of Senescence (Insen). This benefit will apply only for property tax payment within the authorized period.
In addition to the tax incentives, the councilors unanimously approved the signing of a collaboration agreement with the health services of the Mexican Social Security Institute for Welfare (IMSS-Bienestar). The agreement will allow the installation of a registration module for the population without social security, according to the bulletin information.
Additional Agreements Endorsed by the City Council
During the same session, two collaboration agreements with the Quintana Roo State Human Rights Commission (Cdheqroo) were authorized. The first, of a general nature, and the second, specific to develop a training program aimed at public servants and residents of the municipality. Both were approved unanimously.
The City Council also referred to joint committees the initiative proposing modifications to the Internal Regulations of the Mayor’s Office. This procedure will be carried out in accordance with the established internal process, as reported in the official bulletin of November 27.
The municipal administration maintained that the subsidies for property tax payment and the authorized agreements are part of the topics reviewed during the session, which proceeded with unanimous votes on each point.
