Cancún, Quintana Roo — Cancún International Airport scheduled 735 flight operations across the first weekend of October, a 4.4 percent increase over the final weekend of September, according to airline schedules.
Operations rose from 704 on Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday, Sept. 27, to 735 on Saturday, Oct. 3, and Sunday, Oct. 4 — 31 additional flights at the start of the new month.
Both days posted gains. Saturday, Oct. 3, accounted for 370 scheduled operations, up from 347 the previous Saturday, an increase of 23 flights, or 6.6 percent.
Sunday, Oct. 4, had 365 operations scheduled, compared with 357 the previous Sunday — eight more flights, a 2.2 percent rise.
Together, the figures point to a moderate recovery in Cancún’s air activity at the start of October, following a late-September stretch with lower operating levels.
International Routes Carry the Load
For Sunday, Oct. 4, the airport scheduled 183 arrivals and 182 departures. Of the arrivals, 83 are domestic and 100 international; of the departures, 83 are domestic and 99 international.
International connectivity continues to play a major role in the airport’s operations, with flights to cities in the United States, Canada, Europe, Central America and South America, alongside a broad lineup of domestic connections.
With 31 additional operations and 4.4 percent growth, the first weekend of October shows stronger air activity than the last weekend of September at Cancún International Airport.
