Tulum, Mexico — American golfer Bryson Nimmer, 28, claimed victory at the Tulum Championship at PGA Riviera Maya, the tenth stop on the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour calendar. The tournament, held from May 1 to 4 on a par-72 course spanning 7,272 yards, unfolded under sunny skies with easterly winds.
Nimmer secured his first Korn Ferry Tour win after an intense playoff against Canada’s Stuart Macdonald, both finishing with a total score of -9. His final-round 68 included seven birdies, earning him not only the title but also a $180,000 prize and 500 Tour ranking points, securing full exempt status for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
A Trophy Steeped in Mayan Heritage
The champion received a custom-designed trophy crafted by local artisans, featuring the silhouette of a jaguar—a symbol of strength and power in Mayan culture. The piece reflects the tournament’s connection to Tulum’s natural beauty, cultural identity, and status as an international golf destination.
Other notable performances included Seungtaek Lee, who finished T3 at -7, and Mexico’s Raúl Pereda, who placed T25 at -1, qualifying for the AdventHealth Championship.
During the awards ceremony on the 18th green, Nimmer said, “Thank you all so much. This week has been incredible. Winning my first Korn Ferry Tour event in a place like this, in front of such a great crowd, is truly special. I’m grateful my parents could be here, and I dedicate this win to my wife, who couldn’t join us.”
