Cancún, Quintana Roo — Two bodies were discovered buried on a property Thursday, one day after a woman and her adult son were rescued from captivity at the same ranch.

Rescue and Discovery

On Wednesday, authorities located the kidnapped pair during a search for armed men in the jungle. The victims had been held captive for two days at the ranch, located along a highway outside Cancún leading to the town of Leona Vicario in the municipality of Puerto Morelos.

The following day, forensic personnel returned to inspect the property and uncovered an improvised grave containing two bodies covered in concrete.

Police Pursuit Leads to Rescue

The rescue operation began after a police chase that originated near José López Portillo Avenue in Cancún. Officers pursued a vehicle in response to reports of armed men inside. The pursuit ended at the ranch when the suspects abandoned their car and fled into the jungle to evade capture.

After searching the area, police found the woman and her son unharmed. Two suspects, identified as Irving Eugenio "N" and Jorge "N," were arrested in possession of a backpack containing narcotics and a cell phone.

Investigation Underway

Initial investigations suggest the suspects were monitoring the ranch and had held the victims since Monday with the intent of demanding a ransom. During the rescue, authorities noticed a section of the property covered in cement, prompting the forensic examination the next day.

The rescued victims have provided statements to investigators. The identities of the deceased individuals found in the concrete-covered grave have not yet been released.

The Quintana Roo Attorney General's Office has joined a human identification program as part of ongoing efforts to address violent crime in the region.

This incident follows another recent arrest in Puerto Morelos, where a suspect was detained after exchanging gunfire with police during a jewelry store robbery.

Authorities continue to investigate both cases.
