Cozumel, Mexico — A boat capsized on Monday afternoon in the southern coastal zone of Cozumel with 30 tourists on board, all of whom were rescued safe and sound.
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. near the restaurant “Albertos.”
According to unofficial data, the vessel was overloaded when it capsized, apparently due to traveling at excessive speed.
The affected individuals reported that a wave struck the boat, causing it to lose balance due to the speed and passenger load.
Crews from nearby vessels immediately assisted the tourists, who were rescued safe and sound.
As of now, the Port Authority has not issued a statement regarding this incident.
