Bike Path Upgrade in Solidaridad: 87% Complete!

The renovation of the bike path on Avenue 50 of the Tulum-Cancún highway in Solidaridad is nearing completion, with 87% of the work already done. This project, led by President Lili Campos, aims to improve mobility within the municipality. Over 900 lights have been installed along the route, including on the median strip, to increase safety for cyclists day and night.

The Secretary of Infrastructure and Public Works, Gustavo Selvas, shared that the project is not only 87% complete in terms of physical progress but also 70% complete in terms of funding. The main objectives of this renovation are to enhance safety by improving lighting levels and to promote the use of the bike path.

Selvas explained that the project covers more than 17 kilometers, including the bike path, the central median strip, and other alternate routes. A total of 952 lights have been installed, along with 400 remote management sensors.

The final phase of the project involves the application of blue horizontal markings to provide continuity along the bike path. This will establish a connection from Xcaret Park to Constituyentes Avenue.

In addition to the lighting and marking improvements, the project also includes the installation of eight air quality sensors and eight video surveillance cameras. Service stations equipped with a pergola, bench, trash can, bike rack, and bike repair tools are also planned as part of the renovation.
