Police cordon off area where bagged body was found in Cancún's Real Valencia road

Cancún, Quintana Roo — A discovery that shook the continental zone of Isla Mujeres was reported on Tuesday morning. Residents traveling along Real Valencia road found a body inside plastic bags and immediately alerted authorities.

Upon arrival, police officers confirmed it was a bagged corpse with visible signs of violence, so they proceeded to cordon off the area for the corresponding procedures. Experts from the State Attorney General’s Office processed the scene and gathered the first clues.

Although the identity has not been officially confirmed, a source close to the investigation revealed that the physical characteristics match those of Gael Antonio, the minor reported missing since November 29. So far, the young man’s family has not been formally notified, in accordance with established protocols for possible identification cases.

The body was transferred to the Forensic Medical Service, where specialists will conduct the necessary studies to determine the identity and cause of death with certainty.

Authorities are maintaining secrecy as the investigations progress. It is expected that in the coming hours the Attorney General’s Office will issue official information about this regrettable case that has generated deep concern among residents of Cancún and the continental zone of Isla Mujeres.
