Cancún, Quintana Roo — Authorities raided a cocktail bar in Cancún on Friday night following allegations of child sexual exploitation and other illegal activities.
The operation targeted the Camarón Rey cocktail bar located on a dirt road off Paseo Laurel in Supermanzana 247, near the Arco Vial highway and Villas Otoch neighborhood. Agents from the State Prosecutor’s Office (FGE) executed a search warrant at the establishment with support from the National Guard and Mexican Army.
Neighbors reported seeing authorities arrive around 9 p.m. to begin searching the premises. Initial reports indicated the investigation began after authorities located minors allegedly working at the business.
Following the search, agents placed security seals from the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Human Trafficking and Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (FECDTENNA) on the exterior of the establishment. The seals indicate the bar will remain secured as evidence while the investigation continues.
Authorities did not provide details about what was found during the raid or confirm whether any minors were present at the time. They also did not announce any arrests related to the alleged human trafficking and child exploitation offenses.
The FGE is continuing its investigation into the bar’s operations and will pursue charges against those responsible.
