Tulum, Mexico — The organizers of the "Aura Music Fest" have cleared councilman Jorge Alberto Portilla Mánica of alleged responsibilities regarding unpaid debts to some providers of the festival, which took place from August 14 to 16 at the "Dos Aguas" Park.

In a statement issued today in response to rumors circulating on social media, the organizers stated, "In light of recent publications in various media outlets about the alleged existence of unpaid economic debts related to the Aura Music Fest event… all payments to providers, as well as to the personnel who supported the realization of the festival, were settled 100% in a timely manner."

They added that for all those who wish, the event organizers have the supporting documentation for every transaction and are willing to present it to the competent authorities if required.

Furthermore, "it is important to clarify that Engineer and Councilman Jorge Alberto Portilla Mánica is not responsible for the administration nor for the payments. His role was that of a promoter of the event, but not the owner nor in charge of the financial part. Consequently, there is no legal proceeding for lack of payment that involves either the festival or third parties related to it."

They accuse the disseminated information of being baseless and not reflecting the financial or operational reality of their company; adding that such statements obey particular, political interests and attempts to obtain an undue economic benefit, which could constitute an act of extortion.

"Aura Music Fest reiterates its commitment to transparency, legality, and the fulfillment of its obligations to artists, providers, sponsors, and the general public. Our festival is financed with private funds and operates under current laws," they detailed.

They concluded the statement by lamenting that all actions taken to reactivate the economic activity of Tulum become politicized to discredit those who always have desired and continue to desire the best for the people of Tulum.
