Violent robbery at Cancún workshop leaves worker injured

Police and emergency responders at the scene of a violent robbery at a sheet metal workshop in Cancún's Region 227

Cancún, Mexico – A violent robbery occurred this afternoon at a sheet metal and paint workshop located in Region 227 of Cancún.

According to witnesses, four armed men burst into the establishment and stripped workers of a large sum of money and several valuable items before escaping without a trace.

Based on initial reports, the attack occurred around 3:00 PM at a business located on Centenario Avenue, near the intersection with Payo Obispo.

The assailants allegedly arrived in a car and two motorcycles, initially posing as interested customers.

Once inside, the subjects drew their weapons and subdued the employees, then forced one to hand over between 250,000 and 300,000 pesos. The subjects also took cell phones, wallets, and other personal items.

During the robbery, an employee who tried to resist was struck in the head with the butt of a weapon.

After securing the loot, the criminals fled to an unknown destination.

Elements of the Municipal Police and Ministerial Police from the State Attorney General’s Office arrived at the scene and implemented an operation that yielded no results.

Paramedics, for their part, treated the injured worker, who did not require transport to a hospital.
