Early this morning, elements of Solidaridad Citizen Security and the Secretary of Citizen Security of Q. Roo received a report of a lifeless body found beside Federal Highway 307, just outside the gates of the the tourist complex of Puerto Aventuras.
The body, presumably of a male, was found in a small commercial plaza beneath the overpass. Authorities immediately arrived and confirmed that the corpse was wrapped and taped with brown tape. Next to it was a banner with a threatening message against the authorities of the neighboring municipality of Tulum, where violence has escalated due to the poor and incompetent work of that city’s Secretary of Citizen Security.

Later, ministerial agents and forensic medical personnel from the Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office arrived to conduct the corresponding investigations and carry out the removal of the body.
This is the second corpse found in the area of Puerto Aventuras in just one week. On July 23, a human body was discovered in the area known as Monte Sinaí. Authorities are investigating both crimes but do not believe they are connected.
