Amber Alert Activated for Missing Mother and Baby in Puerto Morelos

Authorities have activated search protocols for a missing woman and her one-year-old daughter in Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo

Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo — Authorities have activated an Amber Alert and Alba Protocol for a 21-year-old woman and her one-year-old daughter who disappeared in this coastal town on March 26, 2026.

Officials issued the alerts after receiving a report on March 27 about the disappearance of Leydi Patricia Miranda Hidalgo and her daughter, Sofía Escobar Miranda. Both were last seen in Puerto Morelos on March 26, and their whereabouts remain unknown.

Authorities activated the Alba Protocol under case number 15/FDC/2026 for Miranda Hidalgo. She is described as Mexican with light brown skin, a robust build, short black hair, and black eyes. She weighs approximately 59 kilograms and has a scar on the left side of her forehead and another on a finger of her left hand. No information is available about the clothing she was wearing when she disappeared.

For the one-year-old child, authorities activated both the Amber Alert (case number 16/FDC/2026) and Alba Protocol (14/FDC/2026). Sofía Escobar Miranda is described as Mexican with light brown skin, a robust build, black hair, and dark brown eyes. She weighs approximately six kilograms and has no distinguishing marks. As with her mother, officials have no information about what she was wearing.

Both individuals are officially considered missing, and authorities are asking the public for any information that could help locate them.
