Mérida, Mexico — ADO is incorporating 303 new units of its Platinum and Gran Lujo (GL) service for Mérida and the Peninsula, with an investment exceeding 2,000 million pesos, according to Carlos Toledo Ramírez, director of the Southern Division of Mobily ADO.
Toledo Ramírez stated, “Yucatán is not just a geographical point in the country; it is an engine for the economy and tourism.”
Claudia González Góngora, president of the Business Coordinating Council, noted, “This is how we, the business sector, continue working with a clear commitment to the future, with state-of-the-art technology that impacts thousands of users.”
The presentation of the units and mobility service took place last night at the Siglo XXI Convention Center.
Among the guests at the event was Emilio Blanco del Villar, president of Coparmex-Mérida, who celebrated this investment, saying it pleasantly surprised them because “investments of this caliber arriving in Yucatán definitely help tourism and continue to boost the local economy.” He acknowledged that actions like these make ADO the top mobility company.
Toledo Ramírez recalled that last July they announced this renovation of their luxury fleet, in addition to the first-class buses that will continue operating. “Today it is a reality; the modernization process that reaches Mérida to strengthen mobility and elevate the travel experience in the south of the country is being fulfilled, with the motto: Live Well, Travel Better,” he said.
He also specified that the renovation includes 83 units for the Platinum service and 220 for the Gran Lujo service, of which 85% of the units planned for this corridor are already circulating in this area, and by December 3, they expect all to be in operation.
The Platinum service represents a transformation, with a proposal for accessible luxury that combines comfort and personalized attention, including bed-type seats, individual high-definition screens, satellite internet, and an experience centered on the passenger, as users will be able to communicate with the HOLA customer service center through the screen to channel their questions, requests, or suggestions, and charge their cell phones.
Additionally, the GL service offers a functional solution for frequent travelers with individual screens compatible with Bluetooth headphones, USB and electrical ports, double restrooms (same as the previous service), artificial climate, and wider seats with greater recline.
The director of the southern division emphasized that these new units will strengthen mobility between Mérida, Cancún, and Playa del Carmen, as well as link the Peninsula with the Mexico-Villahermosa and Villahermosa-Mérida corridors, important routes due to their intense tourist activity and growing interstate mobility that makes this area a strategic node for the economic development of the southeast of the country.
“With the arrival of this new generation of buses, we reaffirm our commitment to continue connecting stories, destinations, and opportunities through a more comfortable, safe, and modern service. Innovating, serving, and bringing closer is what drives us, and this region will continue to be a point of impulse for the entire southeast of the country,” he affirmed.
At the presentation, representatives from Grupo Megamedia were also present. Their work consisted of facilitating information and supplements of the multiplatform work “100 Joyas del arte sacro de la península de Yucatán” to attendees, a project that presents for the first time the most significant religious jewels of Yucatán, Campeche, and Quintana Roo, with unpublished photographs, fascinating stories, and audio and video content to learn about each treasure in detail.
