A 34-year-old man tragically lost his life in a road accident on the Tulum-Cobá stretch this past Sunday. The man, identified as Daniel Jesús, was driving a luxury BMW vehicle when he crashed and veered off the road.
The incident occurred around 10:00 am, and was reported by fellow motorists who promptly called 911. Upon arrival, authorities confirmed the vehicle involved was a BMW truck with the license plate UTB887L. The driver was found lifeless in the undergrowth nearby.
Daniel Jesús, a resident of the town of Francisco Uh May, was wearing a black T-shirt and denim trousers at the time of the accident. He suffered severe injuries that resulted in his death.
Preliminary investigations suggest that he may have been driving at an excessive speed. The wet pavement could have contributed to him losing control of the vehicle, causing it to end up in the undergrowth.
Forensic experts from the Attorney General's Office (FGE) of Quintana Roo arrived at the scene and transferred the remains of the deceased to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) in the municipality of Tulum.
