In Playa del Carmen, a 24-year-old man was apprehended for attempting to extort a local business owner. The incident took place in the Ejido neighborhood of Solidaridad, following a distress call from the business owner to the police.
Upon arrival at the scene on 115th Avenue, the Preventive Police detained Hector 'N', a 24-year-old local from Quintana Roo. During a security check, officers discovered a taser gun and a can of pepper spray in his possession. The suspect was then handed over to the State Attorney General's Office for further investigation.
In another incident in Solidaridad, a 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The suspect, identified as Mauricio "N", originally from Mexico City, was accused of slashing someone's neck with a machete in the Nueva Creacion neighborhood.
After responding to an emergency call, authorities found a victim with a neck wound and promptly called for medical help. Mauricio "N", who was found carrying a machete, was arrested and handed over to the State Attorney General's Office for further investigation.
