“Movimiento Ciudadano Candidate Surges Ahead in Chetumal Election!”

As of Sunday midnight, with 24% of polling stations reporting, Lidia Esther Rojas Fabro, the candidate for Movimiento Ciudadano, was slightly ahead in the race for the Municipal Presidency of Othón P. Blanco. The Preliminary Electoral Results Program 2024 for the State Elections of Quintana Roo showed that Rojas Fabro had garnered 8,969 votes, representing 42.41% of the total. Her opponent, Yensunni Martínez Hernández of the "Let's Keep Making History" coalition, trailed behind with 38.11% or 8,060 votes. No comments have been made by any of the candidates regarding the ongoing vote count as of early Monday, June 3.

In the mayoral race for Isla Mujeres, Atenea Gómez Ricalde, the candidate for the Morena-Verde-PT coalition, was leading with 4,352 votes. This accounted for 80% of the votes from 24% of the polled stations. Dancey Geisler Fernández Loria, the PAN-PRI alliance candidate, was in second place with 552 votes, or 10.16%. Gómez Ricalde expressed her gratitude on social media, thanking voters for believing in her transformative project and stating, "we made history again in Isla Mujeres".

In Puerto Morelos, the Morena-Verde-PT candidate, Blanca Merari, was poised to win a second term as Municipal President. With 24% of polling stations reporting, she had secured 60% of the votes, or 3,563 votes. Her nearest rival, María Fernanda Alvear Palacios of the PAN and PRI, had 1,764 votes, representing 29.95%. Merari was the only candidate to comment on social media at the close of the polls, expressing her gratitude to the residents of the municipality.
