Cancún, Mexico — Police officers, in collaboration with a K-9 unit named "Boris," successfully intercepted a drug trafficking operation, leading to the arrest of four suspects and the seizure of nearly 150 doses of narcotics in Cancún.
Suspects Apprehended in Highway Operation
The individuals detained were identified as Miguel Antonio "N," José Manuel "N," Williams Aarón "N," and Román "N," all suspected of involvement in crimes related to drug trafficking under Mexico’s health code.
Authorities observed the suspects exchanging multiple small transparent plastic bags containing a green vegetable substance consistent with marijuana. The incident occurred near a garden area along the Cancún-Tulum highway, close to the entrance of the Hilton Waldorf Astoria hotel.
K-9 Unit Detects Narcotics
As officers approached, the police dog "Boris" immediately signaled the presence of narcotics. A subsequent inspection confirmed his alert, leading to the confiscation of:
- 101 small bags containing suspected marijuana
- 46 small bags with crystalline fragments resembling methamphetamine
- Four mobile phones
The suspects were turned over to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Drug Trafficking of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) for further legal proceedings.
The operation underscores the critical role of K-9 units in law enforcement efforts to combat drug-related crimes in the region.
