Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo — Personnel from the Specialized Group for Attention to Family and Gender Violence (GEAVIG) recently responded to a report of alleged child abuse in the Puerto Aventuras area.

Thanks to the timely intervention of the multidisciplinary team, the minor was rescued and immediately referred to health services, where medical specialists certified their condition. The child was subsequently transferred to the Center for Justice for Women (CJM), where the corresponding protocols were activated.

The minor is now under institutional custody, receiving medical care and comprehensive support.

“From the outset, we acted with responsibility, sensitivity, and strict adherence to child protection protocols,” authorities stated.

The Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office has launched an investigation and has already identified individuals allegedly responsible for the incident.

The municipal government reaffirmed its commitment to child protection and a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of violence.

“This administration will not remain indifferent to the suffering of a child or any injustice,” officials emphasized. They pledged continued collaboration with relevant authorities to ensure justice and to guarantee that Playa del Carmen and its communities remain safe and humane spaces for all.
