Quintana Roo, Mexico — Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo will visit Quintana Roo to oversee the implementation of the "Salud Casa por Casa" (Health Home by Home) program and review hospital infrastructure projects. The announcement was made by Quintana Roo Governor Mara Lezama during her appearance on the program La Voz del Pueblo.
Focus on Health and Food Sovereignty Initiatives
The president’s itinerary includes a visit to Felipe Carrillo Puerto, where she will launch the "Cosechando Soberanía" (Harvesting Sovereignty) program at the Cecilio Chí Double Dome. Sheinbaum is expected to arrive at the Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport in Tulum before proceeding to the event venue on Friday, June 20.
This marks Sheinbaum’s third visit to Quintana Roo since taking office. Her previous trips included commemorating the 110th anniversary of the Mexican Air Force (FAM) at Tulum Airport on February 10, where she also inaugurated the country’s 20th Air Force Base. Her most recent visit occurred on April 25, when she joined Governor Lezama in inspecting progress on the Nichupté Vehicular Bridge in Cancún and launched the "Vivienda para el Bienestar" (Housing for Well-being) program.
Governor Lezama confirmed the president’s agenda in a social media post, stating: "This Friday, we will joyfully welcome our beloved president @Claudiashein to #QuintanaRoo. She will witness firsthand how the transformation of healthcare is advancing in our state. Together, we will oversee the 'Salud Casa por Casa' program and hospital infrastructure projects."
Key Programs Underway
The "Salud Casa por Casa" initiative, part of the federal government’s welfare programs, aims to improve healthcare access for senior citizens and people with disabilities. Meanwhile, "Cosechando Soberanía," launched nationwide in April, seeks to achieve food sovereignty and self-sufficiency by supporting small and mid-sized agricultural producers. The program is designed to increase domestic supplies of staple foods, strengthen the national economy, and improve farmers’ livelihoods.
The president’s visit underscores her administration’s commitment to expanding social welfare programs and infrastructure development in Quintana Roo.
