Quintana Roo Certifies First Elected Judicial Officials

Chetumal, Quintana Roo — The Electoral Institute of Quintana Roo (Ieqroo) delivered certificates validating the majority of votes to officials elected for various positions within the state's Judicial Branch. The ceremony took place this Thursday following a general vote count, concluding an unprecedented electoral process held on June 1.

Judicial Election Marks Historic Milestone

The extraordinary judicial electoral process, which allowed citizens to directly elect Judicial Branch personnel for the first time, concluded 11 days after voting. The certificates were awarded to those selected through free and secret suffrage during a session of the Ieqroo General Council.

Officials tallied votes from 1,280 polling stations distributed across Quintana Roo’s electoral districts. The results determined the new magistrates and judges for the state’s judicial system.

Elected Magistrates of the Superior Court of Justice

The following individuals were elected as magistrates of the Superior Court of Justice:

  • Wendy Fabiola Barrera Ucán
  • Landy Beatríz Blanco Lizama
  • Elena Esmeralda González Flores
  • Gabriela del Carmen Rodríguez Díaz
  • Teresa de Jesús Villa Velasco

Additional magistrates elected include:

  • José de la Peña Ruiz de Chávez
  • José Raúl Galán Muedano
  • Fabián Azael Gamboa Song
  • Omar Landeros Rosado

Tribunal of Judicial Discipline Appointments

For the Tribunal of Judicial Discipline, the elected magistrates are:

  • Elizabeth Moreno Rejón
  • Nesly Luceli Trejo Puc
  • Marco Antonio Torre Constantino

Certificates were also issued to those elected as judges of Quintana Roo’s Judicial Branch, though their names have not yet been disclosed.

The event marks a significant step in the state’s judicial reform efforts, emphasizing transparency and citizen participation in the selection of judicial authorities.
