Cozumel, Quintana Roo — The Fundación de Parques y Museos de Cozumel (FPMC) has extended an invitation to the public to celebrate the 11th anniversary of the BiblioAvión Gervasio, a space that has become a hub for training, artistic development, and entertainment for the local community. The event will take place on Friday, May 23, at 5:00 p.m., with free admission for all attendees.

A Decade of Community Engagement

Under the New Agreement for Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo, promoted by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa, the FPMC supports initiatives that provide dignified and safe spaces for the community to acquire new knowledge and life skills, emphasized Juanita Alonso Marrufo, the foundation’s general director.

The celebration will feature a performance by students from the Latin Dance Workshop and an exhibition of works created in the Textile Painting Workshop, showcasing the range of courses offered at the BiblioAvión Gervasio. The Cha’an Ka’an Planetarium will also participate with activities designed to spark children’s interest in science and the universe. Additionally, staff from the Punta Sur Ecotourism Park will share information about the biodiversity of Laguna Colombia, a protected natural area of significant ecological importance.

Credentialization and Benefits

As part of the event, the FPMC will conduct a credentialization drive for its membership card, which grants access to free entry at parks and museums managed by the institution, as well as promotions such as 2-for-1 tickets at Cinépolis.

Adults must present a copy of their INE (National Electoral Institute) identification with a Cozumel address and proof of local residency. For minors, requirements include a copy of the parent or guardian’s official ID, the child’s birth certificate, and proof of address.

The credential costs 100 pesos for individuals aged 13 and older, and 50 pesos for those under 13. The cards are valid for two years.

The FPMC continues to strengthen community ties and education, inviting all residents to participate in this celebration honoring a space that has served the public for over a decade.
