Puerto Morelos, Mexico — The Third International Free and Master Beach Volleyball Festival 2025 will take place in Puerto Morelos from May 24 to 25, featuring a record-breaking participation of 118 national and international teams.

Historic Participation and Tournament Growth

During a press conference, Gabriela Rivera, vice president of Shark Beach Volleyball Puerto Morelos, highlighted that the event has secured the third position in the ranking of Mexico’s top tournaments. Registrations closed two months prior, surpassing previous editions—76 teams in the first year, 86 in the second, and now 118.

“We’ve set a participation record,” Rivera stated. “This year’s turnout far exceeds our earlier numbers.”

Tournament Structure and Competing Teams

The festival will feature eight categories, including 16 teams in the free category and 11 in the mixed 40+ division. Matches will be held across eight courts, with teams from the U.S., Slovenia, Spain, and multiple Mexican states, including Yucatán, Nuevo León, Baja California, and Quintana Roo.

Andrés Muñoz, secretary of Shark Beach Club, emphasized the event’s growth, calling it “the largest master-category tournament in Mexico’s history.”

The semifinals and finals will conclude the competition on Sunday.
