Apizaco, Tlaxcala — Athletes from Quintana Roo have begun securing medals at the 2025 CONADE National Olympics, marking a strong start for the state delegation. After intense competitions at the High-Performance Sports City in Apizaco, Tlaxcala, the table tennis team claimed three bronze medals in the Team and Doubles categories.
The athletes, supported by the Quintana Roo Sports Commission under the leadership of Jacobo Arzate Hop, represent the state in Mexico’s premier amateur sports event. Their participation aligns with the New Agreement for Wellbeing and Development promoted by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa, aimed at fostering local talent.
A Display of Determination and Skill
Quintana Roo’s players demonstrated exceptional technique and determination, advancing to the finals and securing the state’s first three medals—all bronze. The competition continues, with opportunities for additional podium finishes.
Medal Highlights
- Doubles U11 (Women’s): The pair of Nadia Celis Tec (Felipe Carrillo Puerto) and Ana Sofía Arellano (Benito Juárez) earned bronze, with gold and silver going to Jalisco.
- Team U11 (Women’s): The quartet of Genesis Sosa Gavarrete, Sofía Alessandra Monje Peña, Nadia Celis Tec, and Ana Sofía Arellano secured third place.
- Team U14-U15 (Men’s): The team of Álvaro Magaña Lemus (Isla Mujeres), Aaron Corona Montoya (Benito Juárez), Ramón Castañeda Barrera, and Mateo Espinosa Huerta (both from Felipe Carrillo Puerto) clinched bronze.
The table tennis events will continue, offering Quintana Roo further chances to add to its medal tally.
