Playa del Carmen, Q. Roo — A macabre discovery was made inside a home in the exclusive Palmas Turquesa subdivision in Playa del Carmen. A woman was found dead in what authorities suspect to be a crime of passion, her body lying face down on the bed, bound at the hands and feet with ropes.

A Chilling Scene Uncovered

The victim’s friend made the grim discovery around 7:30 p.m. upon arriving for a visit. The sight of the lifeless, bound body prompted an immediate call for help, bringing officers from Seguridad Ciudadana to the scene. The area was cordoned off as authorities launched an investigation.

According to the security guard’s testimony, the woman had entered the residential complex earlier in the day with her romantic partner, who later left alone. No other individuals were recorded entering the residence before the discovery.

Security Measures Turned Investigative Clue

The controlled access of the subdivision, designed to ensure privacy and safety, has now become a key element in the investigation. Authorities are focusing on the victim’s partner, who was the last person seen entering and leaving the home with her.

Municipal officials released a statement expressing deep regret over the suspected femicide and confirming that security protocols had been activated. They emphasized coordination with the State Attorney General’s Office to clarify the facts and bring those responsible to justice.

The case remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
