13-Year-Old Tulum Boy Becomes Chess Master

Tulum, Mexico — Thirteen-year-old Levi Kalani Alexander Fogo Esquivel has made history by earning the title of FIDE Master, one of the highest international distinctions in chess. The young prodigy from Tulum achieved this milestone following his outstanding performance at the Subzonal Chess Tournament held from April 13 to 20 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

A Rising Star in the Chess World

Recognized as a child prodigy, Levi is now the youngest chess player from Quintana Roo to attain this elite level, positioning him among the world’s top young talents. His accomplishment has drawn praise from chess experts and become a source of pride not only for Tulum but for the entire state.

The achievement is the culmination of years of rigorous training, discipline, and dedication, supported by his family and coaches. Several sports institutions have also played a role in nurturing his talent, which now serves as an inspiration for younger generations.
