The Board of Cultural and Tourist Services Units of the State of Yucatán (Cultur) is set to launch a new tourism promotion initiative. For the first time, the project will include accommodation packages for establishments near the sites managed by Cultur.
The director of Cultur, Clemente Escalante Alcocer, shared that this initiative is being developed in collaboration with the Secretariat for Tourism Development of the State Government. He explained, "We are working on a new package deal that will enable visitors to explore our sites and stay in local hotels. The goal is to provide guests with an enjoyable overnight experience, showcasing the attractions offered by our Yucatán tourist establishments to state, national, and especially international tourists."
Escalante Alcocer added that this new initiative, set to be formally announced soon, aims to benefit a wider range of sectors within the tourism industry. As the year-end holiday season approaches, he assured that tourist sites operated by Cultur are in excellent condition and ready to welcome visitors. "Our main focus is to ensure that all tourist establishments are prepared and committed to offering the best services. We highly recommend visiting Celestún, Uxmal, Chichén Itzá, and experiencing video mapping. We have nearby restaurants where everyone can enjoy their dinner,” he said.
Escalante Alcocer also reported that Cultur is working closely with the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) to reopen the Loltún Caves. "We are following the guidance provided by INAH. They have given us a timeline, and we are acting in accordance with their instructions," he concluded.
