The internationally acclaimed Lizt Alfonso Ballet, also known as Dance Cuba, is set to make its debut performance in Playa del Carmen on December 20th. Known for its unique blend of flamenco, ballet, and contemporary dance, the group will be performing at the Xaman Há City Theater at 8:00 pm, as announced by Santiago Ernesto Martínez Cuéllar, the director of the Municipal Institute of Culture and Arts of Solidaridad (IMCAS).

Dance Cuba is not only celebrated for its breathtaking performances but also for its dedication to social impact. The group provides training for dancers, teachers, and choreographers, and offers workshops, master classes, and community activities to support disadvantaged communities.

In line with the charitable nature of the event, admission to the performance will be granted in exchange for a donation of a new, non-violent, non-electric toy. Donations can be made at the City Theater box office from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. The collected toys will be gifted to children in need, spreading joy during the festive season.

Since its formation in 1992, Dance Cuba has captivated audiences worldwide with its artistic excellence and creativity. The group's 2007 show, VIDA, won the esteemed "Dora" award for best choreography in Canada's performing arts. In 2016, former US First Lady Michelle Obama honored Dance Cuba with the Arts and Humanities award for their work with vulnerable communities. In 2020, the Kings of Spain, Felipe VI and Letizia, attended a gala at the Alicia Alonso Theater in Havana, acknowledging the group's artistic brilliance.

Dance Cuba promises an unforgettable performance in Playa del Carmen, combining rhythm, art, and tradition. For more information about the event and toy donation requirements, the public is encouraged to visit IMCAS's social media pages.
