French Tourist Killed in Tragic Tulum Road Collision

A damaged car with its front end completely crumpled after an apparent accident, with a person standing beside it observing the damage, near roadside vegetation and a pile of debris.

A French tourist tragically lost her life in a road accident in Tulum. The incident occurred when the vehicle she was traveling in was struck by a trailer on the route towards Cobá. The collision took place at the 10-kilometer mark, claiming the life of 29-year-old Constance.

Constance, of French nationality, was seated in the back of the vehicle when the truck collided with it. Following the accident, other motorists on the Tulum-Cobá road promptly dialed the emergency number 911 to summon help for those involved in the crash.

Emergency services, including Civil Protection units and paramedics from a private company, quickly arrived at the scene. Upon their arrival, they discovered that Constance had unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.

Once the death was confirmed, the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) of Quintana Roo was notified. Forensic experts were dispatched to the scene to transfer the remains to the morgue, where an autopsy will be conducted.

Preliminary reports suggest that the driver of a white Freightliner trailer, owned by the shipping company Tres Guerras, failed to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead on the Tulum-Cobá road. As a result, he rear-ended a gray Renault Stepway, which was attempting to turn into a local cenote.

The force of the impact caused the Renault to be dragged several meters off the road, with witnesses estimating the distance to be approximately 50 meters. Following the confirmation of Constance's death, Tulum authorities apprehended the trailer driver to ascertain responsibility for the accident.
