Cirque du Soleil, in partnership with Grupo Vidanta, is commemorating the tenth anniversary of their renowned show, Joyà, by announcing an ambitious new project on the Mexican Pacific coast. The new show, named Ludõ, is set to open in Nuevo Nayarit in November 2025, with a dedicated investment of $230 million for the construction of the theater.
Over the past weekend, Joyà celebrated its decade-long run as one of the most prominent shows worldwide. A glamorous gala was held, attracting celebrities, influencers, artists, and entrepreneurs. The Joyà theater, which was constructed in 18 months and accommodates 650 people, provides a unique experience with its design ensuring a perfect view from every seat. Each night, the show offers a blend of fine dining and a performance featuring 40 full-time artists, including Ruth Robles, a singer from Guadalajara, whose voice has become a signature of the show.
Iván Chávez, the Vice President of Grupo Vidanta, shared that Ludõ will feature water as a key element, with an on-stage aquarium, a groundbreaking concept in the entertainment industry. The new project will emulate the successful formula of Joyà, offering a blend of luxury, art, and gastronomy. In addition, the theater will incorporate materials native to the region, creating an ambiance that mirrors the essence of the Pacific, similar to the approach used in the Riviera Maya.
With Ludõ, Cirque du Soleil aims to extend its legacy and maintain its position as a leading brand in the entertainment industry. This announcement signifies a significant development in Mexican entertainment, reinforcing Cirque du Soleil's standing as a pioneer in luxury artistic experiences. It also raises high expectations for what Ludõ will contribute to the Mexican Pacific.
