14 Indicted for Drug Trafficking in Riviera Maya

Legal proceedings for drug trafficking cases in Tulum and Playa del Carmen

Tulum, Mexico — The State Attorney General’s Office obtained indictments for 14 individuals accused of alleged health crimes in the form of drug trafficking, resulting from separate hearings held in Tulum and Playa del Carmen.

In Tulum, a control judge decided to initiate criminal proceedings against César “N” and Sandra Guadalupe “N” after they were presented for their probable involvement in the supply of cannabis sativa and methamphetamine.

Another group, consisting of Juan Carlos “N”, Marco Alí “N”, and Pedro Antonio “N”, was also indicted for the same criminal modality after specialized prosecutors presented sufficient evidence to the judicial authority.

In a separate action, investigation elements, with support from the Municipal Police, detained Rosendo Julián “N”, Kevin Miguel “N”, and José Alejandro “N”. The judge deemed their apprehension legal and ordered them to face criminal proceedings for drug trafficking.

Six Alleged Accomplices Processed in Playa del Carmen

In Playa del Carmen, the judicial authority initiated proceedings against six people. Javier “N” was presented for alleged possession with intent to supply, while Rodolfo Laurenty “N” was subjected to proceedings for simple possession.

In another case, Salomón “N” was detained and handed over to the judge who required him for his alleged involvement in the simple possession of cannabis sativa and cocaine.

Additionally, the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in Combating Drug Trafficking obtained the indictment of Irving Alexis “N”, Jesús Miguel “N”, and Óscar Leonardo “N” for alleged possession with intent to supply cannabis sativa.

Preventive Detention for the 14 Defendants

The Attorney General’s Office reported that, in all cases, the judicial authority imposed justified preventive detention as a precautionary measure, which will remain in effect during the development of each criminal procedure.
