Cancún, Mexico — As part of its commitment to the tourism, educational, and cultural development of the Mexican Caribbean, Puerto Maya Cancún has opened its doors to film and acting students from Universidad FILMA for the production of short films aimed at showcasing Cancún from an authentic, diverse, and deeply human perspective.
Strengthening Cancún’s Global Image
According to available information, this audiovisual project, supported by the Cancún Tourism Secretariat, seeks to enhance the destination’s international appeal through cinematic works that highlight not only its natural beauty but also its cultural richness and emerging local talent.
The productions will be presented at major international fairs, including the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid, the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, and strategic events across Latin America.
Filming took place in early July in the heart of Cancún’s Hotel Zone at Puerto Maya, a venue that has become a meeting point for nature, history, adventure, and responsible tourism. With authentic settings evoking both ancestral and contemporary Mexico, Puerto Maya provided an ideal environment for students to explore their creativity in a professional, real-world location.
