A yacht unexpectedly caught fire around 11 am this Sunday in the hotel zone of Cancún. The incident occurred near the Calinda Bridge, situated at the 5th kilometer of the hotel zone. Thankfully, there were no injuries or fatalities reported.

The local fire department was quick to respond, arriving on the scene to control and extinguish the fire. The flames had already spread to the awning of a nearby vessel by the time they arrived.

The individual responsible for the luxury yacht informed authorities that the fire seemingly started without any obvious cause. However, they suggested that a short circuit might have been the culprit.

After successfully putting out the fire, the firefighters departed from the scene. Personnel from the municipal police and port captaincy stayed behind to carry out necessary procedures.

Representatives from Civil Protection were also present to ensure there were no further risks. They provided safety recommendations to those in charge of the nearby vessels.
