Cancún — A woman, apparently the owner of a grocery store, was shot this morning inside the establishment located in the Villas Otoch Paraíso subdivision of this city.
The incident occurred around 8 a.m., when three individuals on a motorcycle arrived at the store located in block 112, threatened the woman, stole the money she had collected from sales, and shot her in the legs.
After the attack, the three individuals got back on the motorcycle and fled toward Margaritas Avenue, passing in front of the CIPI Community Center.
Municipal and State Police officers arrived at the site and confirmed that a woman had been injured, which is why they requested support from Civil Protection paramedics, who shortly afterward took her to an IMSS hospital.
Agents from the State Attorney General’s Office later took charge of collecting evidence and picking up the spent shell casings that remained at the scene of the attack.
According to initial investigations, this incident could be related to robbery, as yesterday afternoon the person in charge of a stationery store located a few meters from this grocery store was also robbed.
Investigative agents are already working to find those responsible for this criminal act.
