Cancún, Mexico — In response to growing interest from the Colombian market in the beaches of the Mexican Caribbean, airline Wingo announced the resumption of its seasonal international operations to Cancún International Airport, with flights from Bogotá and Medellín beginning in July of this year.
The airline will operate three weekly flights from El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá and two from José María Córdova International Airport in Medellín. This schedule is designed to accommodate high demand during the vacation season while offering competitive fares on Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft with a capacity for 180 passengers.
“This is a clear strategy to maintain Cancún’s position as one of the favorite destinations for Colombian travelers, providing more direct and affordable access options,” the airline stated in its announcement.
Flight Schedule Details
Flights from Bogotá are scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, departing at 3:10 p.m. and arriving in Cancún at 7:00 p.m. Return flights will leave Cancún at 7:50 p.m., landing in Bogotá at 11:15 p.m.
For Medellín, flights will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays, departing at 5:30 a.m. and arriving in Cancún at 8:55 a.m. Return flights will take off at 9:45 p.m., arriving in Medellín just before 1:00 a.m.
Strengthening Cancún’s Tourism Hub
This expansion of air routes further solidifies Cancún’s status as one of Latin America’s most important tourism hubs. It also responds to a steady flow of visitors from Colombia, particularly during peak vacation periods.
The relaunch of these flights underscores Wingo’s commitment to meeting traveler demand while reinforcing Cancún’s appeal as a premier Caribbean destination.
