TULUM, MX. – A man approximately 30 years old was executed by gunfire on Sunday morning in the Veleta neighborhood, prompting a new mobilization of security forces in this municipality.
The attack occurred at the intersection of 10 Sur and 9 Poniente streets, where armed individuals intercepted the victim and shot him repeatedly, leaving him dead on a dirt road before fleeing to an unknown destination.
Residents alerted authorities after hearing gunshots. Municipal Police officers and paramedics arrived at the scene and confirmed the man showed no vital signs.
The area was cordoned off to allow forensic work by the State Attorney General’s Office, which opened the corresponding investigation file. As of now, the victim remains unidentified and no arrests have been reported.
This incident adds to other violent events recently recorded in Tulum, reigniting citizen concerns about insecurity levels in the municipality.
