An unidentified individual tragically died in a pharmacy in downtown Tulum. The individual had entered the pharmacy seeking assistance, but unfortunately passed away shortly after. It is believed that the cause of death was a heart attack, however, this has not been confirmed as no identification documents were found on the person.
The incident occurred around 12:15 am yesterday, when a 911 emergency call was made reporting a person collapsing inside the "Drugstore Farmacy". This pharmacy is located on Tulum Avenue, between Centauro and Orion Norte Streets.
Upon receiving the emergency call, a medical unit from Hospital Tulum was promptly dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the medical team began administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Despite their best efforts, the individual did not respond to the treatment and was declared deceased after thirty minutes of attempted resuscitation.
The Municipal Preventive Police (PMP) arrived on the scene shortly after. They cordoned off the area and reported the incident to the Deputy Prosecutor's Office of Tulum, who took over the investigation.
The deceased individual was taken to the Forensic Medical Service (SEMEFO) facility for an autopsy, as is standard procedure. The body remains unclaimed and the identity of the individual is still unknown.
