Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Two men have been formally charged with sexual assault of minors in separate cases in Quintana Roo, with one suspect being the victim’s boxing coach, authorities announced.
The State Prosecutor’s Office (FGE) of Quintana Roo, through its Special Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Sexual Crimes, presented evidence that led judges to separately order formal charges against both men for their alleged involvement in rape and sexual abuse cases involving minors whose identities are protected.
The first suspect is Rolando “N,” known as “El Ogro,” who allegedly committed rape and sexual abuse in August 2025, taking advantage of his position as the victim’s boxing coach. The crimes reportedly occurred at a location on Lilis Avenue between Sin Nombre and Flor Romero avenues in the Las Flores neighborhood of Playa del Carmen.
According to the prosecutor’s statement, “El Ogro” allegedly abused the teenager again on November 17, 2025, after which the victim reported the incidents to authorities. The suspect was arrested and subsequently charged with a two-year preventive prison term.
In a separate case in Benito Juárez municipality, a judge ordered formal charges and a two-year preventive prison term for Jonatan “N” for alleged sexual abuse of a teenage girl. The incidents reportedly occurred in February 2025, when the suspect allegedly abused the minor victim at their shared residence in Supermanzana 105, taking advantage of their family relationship.
