Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Police arrested two men in the Luis Donaldo Colosio neighborhood after catching them allegedly exchanging small bags of suspected drugs during a patrol.

Officers from the Public Security Department were conducting preventive surveillance in the area when they spotted two men who appeared to be swapping suspicious packages. The police approached to inspect them according to protocol.

During the search, officers seized several wrappers containing suspected narcotics, along with cash and a cell phone. They also secured a gray Chevrolet Aveo with Quintana Roo license plate UTS-116-N, which the suspects allegedly used.

Authorities identified the men as Fernando “N,” 35, from Chiapas, and Andri Alexander “N,” also 35, a Playa del Carmen resident.

After their arrest, police informed both men of their rights and handed them over to the Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine their legal status in the coming hours.

Officials said the seizure was part of ongoing surveillance operations across the city to combat drug-related crimes.
