Grim Discovery: Two Bodies Found in Playa del Carmen

Two highly decomposed bodies were discovered near the boundary of Playa del Carmen and Tulum, at San Antonio ranch. The grim discovery was made by local residents.

The police were alerted to the situation around 11 am when people travelling on the dirt roads of San Antonio ranch stumbled upon the bodies. The location was at kilometer 257 of federal highway 307, across from the Sirenis hotel.

The bodies were in such an advanced state of decomposition that one of them was reportedly reduced to just bones. Officers from the Municipal Police stationed in the Puerto Aventuras sector were dispatched to the scene, which was located one kilometer off the main highway down a dirt road.

Later, personnel from the State Attorney General's Office arrived to conduct an investigation. The two bodies were eventually recovered from the scene.
