Tulum, Mexico — Two gas refill stations were secured by authorities after officials were informed of certain operational and administrative irregularities in Tulum.
Elements from Municipal Public Security, the Secretariat of the Navy, and the State Police attended the operation, who were in charge of guarding the perimeter to guarantee the total closure of the facilities.
The first station is located at kilometer 226 of federal highway 307 and the second on Cobá Avenue, at the corner of Bubulek Street.
At one of the closed stations, a “No Entry” seal was placed, specifying that the unit was secured by order of the ministerial authority. Operational personnel proceeded to cordon off the area, as seen in the images, disabling the fuel supply islands while the investigation progresses.
According to preliminary information, the seizure responds to procedures related to the alleged commission of property crimes, although the Prosecutor’s Office has not yet detailed the exact nature of the anomalies detected. Authorities indicated that the facilities will remain under guard while the corresponding ministerial review is carried out, which will include documentary, operational, and financial inspection.
Municipal and State Police agents supported with cordoning and perimeter security, while Navy elements participated in tactical supervision, given the strategic nature of the energy sector.
Neighbors and motorists passing through the area expressed surprise at the deployment of authorities, as the stations were operating normally until hours before the operation. For its part, the company Full Gas has not issued a public statement regarding the seizure.
