Puerto Morelos, QR — Police are investigating the shooting deaths of two adults in the municipality of Puerto Morelos. On Tuesday, the bodies of two people were found dead inside a car on the side of the highway.
The car was found around 7:20 a.m. with two dead adults inside. The shooting occurred on the outskirts of the town of Leona Vicario. Reports indicate that the deceased were a man and a woman. Neither has been identified.
They were traveling on Federal Highway 180 when they were shot. The vehicle was found on Tuesday morning and reported to authorities around 7:20 a.m.
Puerto Morelos Municipal Police found their silver car riddled with bullets on the driver’s side.
The driver’s side had numerous bullet impacts. Inside the car were the two deceased. The vehicle was heading west at the time of the shooting.
Responding officers confirmed the deaths of two people inside the silver Nissan Versa, which was found partially off the road. Paramedics confirmed that both the man and the woman inside were dead.
The area was cordoned off for the arrival of personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE). Authorities have not commented on the shooting.
